A few thoughts: Catching Up

  • First of all, I’m totally disappointed in the Democrats calling for Anthony Wiener’s resignation. I like to think that the Democratic Party is the tolerant, forgiving, understanding party. Aren’t we supposed to be all “stay out of people’s bedrooms” as long as everyone in there is a consenting adult and all that? Sure he did a stupid, immature, irresponsible thing and got caught, which is probably his biggest crime because I’m sure as hell that other politicians are doing much worse things in their private lives and the only difference is they haven’t been caught (yet). But I am unclear as to how this stupid, arrogant mistake makes him unfit for his job. I think the only one Anthony Wiener needs to answer to about his actions is his wife. The rest of us should all just make one last Wiener joke and move on. We’re such a country of contradictory puritanism it boggles my mind.
  • I spent Friday and Saturday and Sunday with my sisters — all of them — and even though we were moving Sister #2 to a new place it was pretty awesome. Things in the Sister Club have been at times awkward and strained since the events of October 2007 and my dad stopped acknowledging the existence of Sisters #2 & #4. But this weekend, it was good and gave me hope that maybe we have finally put all that B.S. behind us.
  • Tomorrow I am getting my hair cut because right now it looked like an angry wombat with orange fur died on top of my head. It’s totally attractive.
  • The “T” key on Enid is wiggly, often pops half out of it’s cozy little key home, and generally drives me crazy. I would like to blame this on supbar Macbook quality but realize that it’s totally my fault because I type like I’m self-taught (because I am) and happen to only hit the “T” on it’s corner whenever I press it. Oops. My bad
  • Also, my spacebar often sticks. I blame this on the fact that there’s probably enough Pop Tart crumbs in there to feed a small village.
  • Also tomorrow, I’m expecting the arrival of a big, giant monitor. I’ve taken to actually working in my home office at my desk. I know, right? But the problem is that hulking over my teeny, tiny laptop as it sits on my desk is giving me a pain in my neck. I’m most excited about this new monitor development.
  • Have I mentioned my new curtains? They are lovely and my new favorite pastime is watching them flutter in the breeze.
  • Finally, I just learned that the word is “pastime” and not passtime or pasttime. The more you know.
