How a pack of Bubbalicious comes to resemble fine wine

A few weeks ago, I stopped by Sister #3’s house to hang out and commune with the Tibbles (which is a nickname Sister #2 gave to the 3 fabulous Becker boys). If you don’t get a good dose of little boy goodness, you start to get a bit wonky.

Because I am always striving to be the best aunt on the planet, I went to the lair of the Tibble armed with a brand new pack of bubble gum. Cade and Nolie are obsessed with gum and the first thing they say the minute they see me or Sister #2 is “Do you got any gum?”

So when I was asked the inevitable question I nodded yes and pointed to the sweatshirt I had just taken off. They immediately ransacked the pockets and unearthed a fresh pack of Cotton-Candy-Flavored Bubblicious.

“Ohhhhh, gum,” Nolie pulled the pack from my pocket.
“What kind of gum Nolie?” Cade asked.
“It’s Cotton Candy,” I said.
“GUM!” Nolie shouted shoving the pack towards me.
“Yes, Cotton Candy gum,” I said.
“Is it pink?” cade asked.
“I don’t know.”
“Smell the gum,” Nolie said putting the pack to his nose and inhaling dramatically.
“Let me smell,” Cade said, and Nolie shoved the gum to his brother’s nose. “We love gum.”

We then proceeded to smell the gum, examine the packaging of the gum, and discuss the cotton-candyness of the gum like it was $100 bottle of fine red wine. Only after we exhausted all avenues of discussion did we open the gum and chew it.

At that point they took turns popping the bubbles I would blow. It was great fun.
