and i swear unto you that’s her god-given name

the mean reds have faded into the night. i’m gonna be alright. and, despite what thomas thinks, the mean reds aren’t useless emotions. they come and they go, there’s nothing wrong with it. you have to live through the depths to really appreciate the peaks.

some people think i should take pills to get rid of these swings. some people think i’m crazy. i don’t care. i like the full spectrum of emotion– even when those emotions do suck.

in other news, you can probably call me sassy britches today and that’d make me smile.

You’ve probably had no reason to read Christiana Northrup’s, The Wisdom of Menopause, but she says during your life you have those raging emotions each month because they are trying to point out what we need to address, accept or resolve. If we don’t do this when younger, when we get to perimenopause, we can turn into real ragers, because it’s time to settle it once and for all. So feel the depth, question what your psyche is trying to let you know, and do your inner work. That’s why those gramma types have those serene smiles like Tweetie bird’s care taker.

I know what you mean, sassy-britches. I’ve been on this really even keel for the last several years, and though I don’t miss the crushing lows, I sure miss the soaring highs. It is nice to be stable, though. I guess this is one of those cases where the grass is always greener on the other side, huh?
