mr. telephone man, there’s something wrong with my line
here’s a question for you. how many times can you call someone, leave a message and not have them return your call before you’re considered absolutely pathetic? 3? 5? 92?

I started feeling stupid and pathetic at about #6. Of course, I also called his job at least twice and left messages there. And I sent several e-mails… from various addresses in case he’d blocked the ones he knew. *cringes*
When I’m not in work
I ring up and leave
myself messages
that way I look
really busy when I get
back in the office
returning all those
calls
I just worry that one
day when I ring up
I’ll answer the phone

If I reach out all on my own around 10 times and don’t get any reach back, I tend to get really discouraged and just focus my attention elsewhere.

well, then i’m not even half-way to pathetic yet. wahoo!
so after three is it just a wash? do you jsut give up? even if it’s someone you’ve had some sort of pseudo-relationship with for over a year?

I just finished calling someone for the 12th time over a period of two months and have decided that was the last call. I could never do this to someone.
