i woke up to the wacky morning djs proclaiming that it’s something like 81 degrees out at the moment. i also woke up sweaty, which makes me crabby and singing “all out of love” my air supply which makes me scared.
thunderstorms are expected today and then perhaps some decent spring weather will follow. yes, i am a typical minnesotan. we always talk about the weather. it’s the tie that binds us. someone from LA once told me that minnesotans talk about he weather the way los angelenos talk about the traffic.
it’s nice, having the weather as such a common thread. this way you have something to talk about with the gas station attendant, the grocerry store cashier and the coworkers you’d rather not talk to.
in other news, i had a freaky dream about buying a giant house with 4 or 5 bedrooms, three living rooms, a couple bathrooms and two kitchens. it was just plain weird. the house was amazing and owned by bobby g (who bowls on monday and friday nights) and his wife darlene. only in my dream darlene, bobby g’s wife, was not played by his real wife, but by darlene the head of HR from work.
weirdness.
you’re so right about talking about the weather. i know this about minnesota, yet i can’t stop doing it myself. we just have such wacky weather!
dude, i live in seattle and i’ll tell you about weather talk.
“oh, i heard it’s going to rain until the middle of may. i can’t believe it.”
“no, wait, i heard we’ll have partly sunny, partly cloudy with a chance of rain on thursday and then back to rain and wind on friday until the end of time.”
“well, finally we’ll have a little springtime!”
