Appreciation 6.24

Hi Darling Ones, Did you miss me? I took a brief hiatus while Sister #2 was here. She left Friday and I spent all day yesterday sleeping. It always takes me a little while to readjust to hermit life after spending a ton of time with my extrovert sisters. Speaking of which, we’re gonna kick off this month’s appreciation list with them. Sisters I cannot say enough how rad it is that my sisters have consistently shown up for me…

Paul Westerberg’s Solo Albums Ranked: A 14 Songs’ 31st Anniversary Tribute

What’s up, Darling Ones? In honor of the 31st anniversary of Paul Westerberg’s first solo record, “14 Songs,” I decided to rank his solo efforts based on whim and my current mood. I included some of the Grandpaboy stuff, but kept out all the basement recordings. 1. Suicaine Gratifaction This should come as no surprise. Stroke recovery is a frustratingly long…

Not a Good Day

Uff Da, Darling Ones, Today has been a rough one. Yesterday was a rough one too, and I am deep down in the feeling sorry for myself dumps. I had eye day yesterday and it did not go well. It started out great two old ladies in the waiting room complimented me on my Still Kickin shirt and Dr. D said my hair was cute. What can I say? I’m vain. I was actually kind of excited for the treatment,…

What Would I Trade?

Hi Darling Ones. Last night I finished the Catghan for my nephew-in-law. This is a momentous occasion for many reasons. His birthday was in April. It is, according to my semi-reliable record keeping, the 30th blanket I’ve made. It is the FIRST thing I’ve finished since my stroke. I started this before my stroke and worked so hard on it the night before my stroke I wrote off my right-arm weakness as a crochet injury. It’s super cute (full blanket…
