This will make some long-time readers of I Will Dare acutely aware of the passage of time, specifically how fast that time goes by.

Today my niece Jaycie turns thirteen. She’s a smart, kind, and beautiful young woman who loves music, fashion, cats, and running. She’s quick and can discern the significance of a knowing look and the hilarity of inside jokes.
On Saturday we celebrated her birthday where she served cupcakes that she decorated with purple ribbons in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month.
It is an honor to know her and be a part of her life.

When I was thirteen my birthday cake had the Minnesota North Stars logo on it. Kids these days, with their values and their consciousness.
Kevin, when I was 13 I’m sure my cake had something lame on it (probably extra lame because I would have had to share the cake with my 5-year-old sister). But then my mom wasn’t a PhD candidate studying domestic violence.
Holy S%#t! This cannot be. Because if she is already thirteen then that would make me……..old.
Smoo, welcome to your happy golden years.
