TTHM, I almost bought a super-special secret signed edition of Eggers’ novelization of Where the Wile Things Are, just to spite you. But then I figured you’d just laugh and I’d rather spend the $40 on something good, like vintage napkin rings.

Hmm. Looking back at Eggers’ Heartbreaking, the only part I really liked was his rant in the back about “irony.” Beyond that I just kind of figured I was supposed to like it because people told me I would.
I am on the fence about Eggers, but have to agree with you about the other three. Klosterman’s new book does have its bright spots, though.
