Things I am done with, a list

  1. Catching up on more episodes of Dawson’s Creek than I am comfortable admitting to you.
  2. Finding the perfect calendar for the new Web site.
  3. Picnic-style family get-togethers located north of 394. Three weeks of extended family in a row is more than enough for everyone.
  4. Passive-aggressive blogging in all its forms. My new policy is not to respond in any way, shape, or form. Sorry loved ones, I am not taking the bait.
  5. the number five
  6. Justifying my hermitude. I go out when I feel like it. You will never, ever catch me telling someone, ‘you know, you should stay home more often.’ Get off my back, jackasses.
  7. Listening only to Paul Westerberg’s 49:00. Five days in a row of no other music is enough.
  8. Turkey burgers and salads for dinner. I’ve had this for dinner roughly eight of the last, er, fourteen nights? I am an unoriginal chef.
  9. Avoiding my short story. I’ve had more than one creative breakthrough this week.

Yeesh, turkey burgers. I had one back in ’82, I think, and decided that was enough.

I do miss Sizzlean, though. Remember that? Turkey bacon, or something similar anyway. There’s a generic form of it at the grocery store where I usually do my shopping, but it’s not quite the same. I can’t put my finger on what the difference is, though, but it’s just not right.

I love turkey burgers, they are delicious. I’ve just had a few of them lately, probably because I so rarely eat a burger of any kind since I stopped eating red meat.

And turkey bacon is a bad thing. i tried it for the first time last night and it’s a crime against all that is holy and bacony. It’s an affront to the bacon-eating public.
