I had another dream about Prince last night. This could be more disturbing. But the fact that I had a dream means that I slept more than five hours and that’s a thing worthy of celebration.
In the dream Prince and I were making a mixtape. An old school tape and not a CD we call a mixtape. Prince and I were fighting over the songs to include. He was insisting on “Mr. Wendell” by Arrested Development, and I was all “Hello 1992 wants their song back. We’re not having Mr. Wendell”
I argued in favor for “Here I Dreamt I was an Architect” by The Decemberists, but the little purple guy was having none of it. Finally he threw a hissy fit and said it was Mr. Wendell or nothing.
“Fine!” I shouted and threw the little plastic cassette case at him. “Nobody’s going to want this stupid mixtape anyway.”
I got up from the floor where we had been sitting, tossed the notepad I had been writing the song names on into his lap, and walked away from him. He was crying. I made Prince cry.
Mall openings and K-Mart sales make Prince cry. He’s just so tiny and frail.
He’s a bad motherfucker. I would not ever mess with Prince. He could kick my ass even though I am 2 feet taller than him.
This is what it sounds like…when Prince cries.
Jodi, hon:
Have you ever seen Prince and Little Richard together at the same place at the same time?
No.
Because they are the same man.
Whomp-bomp-a-loo-bomp, a whomp-bam-boom.
OK… I think I’ve just read one of the best blog lines I’ve read in a very long time. “I made Prince cry.”
Thank you!!!! I needed that!
way to go.
Trust me. If I threw something at you, you’d probably cry too.
Were the tears he cried purple?
Now that you’ve had the sex you were finally able to see the “real” Prince … a petty, pretty, sexy, crybaby. Oh My God … 1992 wants their song back. Seriously love, I think I peed a little when I read that “Mr. Wendell” bit.
that was good…
what perked um, my interest other than the very funny “mr. wendell” banter and oh! the ‘1992 wants their song back’ hilarious…, was the decemberists song… here i dreamt i was an architect.
that’s one of my favorites. they are excellent live if you get a chance to see them.
and um… good post. jolly good.
Thank you. I wish I could take some credit for it, really. But who the hell can control their subconscious?
