so today i have to write the newsletter. i have to write the newsletter every month. it goes out to about eleventeen billion people and they love it. all of them. i know this, because i get to read all the fanmail the newsletter gets (which is one of my favorite parts of my job). i, however, dislike writing the newsletter. this is probably because i’ve been doing it for like 60 months in a row. it’s just a kinda tedious chore that i have to power through.
how do i work this magic? i plug into Kathleen Turner Overdrive and set the volume to ‘annoyingly loud to my coworkers even though i am wearing headphones.’ hearing loss is one of the on-the-job dangers copywriters face. i knew the risks when i took the job.
however, and the whole point of this, is that i have been listening to Of Montreal, based on friends rec. i’m digging it muchly. They remind me quite a bit of Beulah (whom I love). also, making up today’s playlist: Joan Jett, Hall & Oates, Mates of State and Lisa Loeb.
So, how does one get on the mailing list for said newsletter?
uh, why do you ask?
If it’s getting fan mail, I wanna read it, ’cause no newsletter I have ever read has been deserving of fan mail.
it’s for a niche market. i don’t think it would appeal to you.
What, I don’t like niches?
