if i were a 15-year-old heartsick girl who had discovered music beyond debbie gibson

i’d should totally be taping The Current’s SchmoopFest-Song-a-thon from the radio right now. And i would be taping it if i could find some sort of old cassette. so far what i’ve heard (between breaks from “That 70s Show” [which has, incidentally, made me believe that the only way to watch TV shows is all at once on DVD]) include “Ring of Fire” and “Dance Me to the End of Love, and they’re playing “Tupelo Honey,” which i totally forgot to add.

DJ said something about having it available streaming to re-listen at a later date. No need for holding the portable tape recorder to the speakers.

I spent a good portion of the evening listening in as well. Quite the wonderful mix, save for the new Prince song off of Musicology. How can that one already be “a favorite love song of all-time”?

I was pleasantly surprised to hear “In Spite of Ourselves” which I thought was a cute little song, especially the version they played. Can’t wait for the playlist and/or show to be posted so I can track that one down.

Also thought it was cool to hear this site’s namesake loud and proud shortly after 10. Go iwilldare!
