correct me if i’m wrong, but i think i once proclaimed that i would automatically sleep with anyone who sang that song to me. did i actually proclaim it or did i just dream the proclamation?

  3. UH 14.Feb.05 at 2:16 pm

It was definitely a proclamation. Possibly even a provocation.

“God Only Knows” makes me think of my daughter, since it was on one of the two CDs I listened to while in labor a year ago today.

I’m listening to “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” right now. There’s something about “Jesus, Etc.” that always gets to me. And “Reservations”. Probably because I want Jeff Tweedy to be my Valentine.

robin, i told someone who shall remain nameless *cough*darlingjason*cough* that he had officially slid from the #1 spot on my favorite people from chicago list and that he should be really worried beause jeff tweedy put in an application. i thought you might want to know. should his app be accepted and he wins the coveted position, i’ll totally give you the hookup.

UH, you do realize that i live to provoke, don’t you?

  7. UH 14.Feb.05 at 5:26 pm

    But of course.

(you must imagine that as being in a reedeekulous Fraunch accent)

Don’t you like that song “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer?

  9. wolfdog 14.Feb.05 at 5:55 pm

I can only come up with 4…other than some of the excellent ones already mentioned (Jesus Etc. is right on)
Behind The Wall Of Sleep – Smithereens
    Carolyn – Martin Zellar
I’m Always In Love – Wilco
and a big lump in the wolfdog’s throat for Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time.

    Definitely “I’m Always in Love”.

Jodi, if you ever make it to this neck of the woods, I’ll have to take you on my all-inclusive Uncle Tupelo/Wilco tour. Casino Queen, The Landing from “Heavy Metal Drummer”, their hometown of Belleville (still trying to get Mrs. Tweedy to make cookies for the tour). It’s awesome!
