how do you spell relief?

wow, i got my work done. i hadn’t realized how much that was weighing on me. i feel gobs better with that done.

each month, i write a newsletter for work. it goes out to like 400,000 people. it’s hugely popular and makes gobs of money. in each newsletter, i write a story about someone using our software. inevitably it’s the biggest pain in the ass, but still my favorite task of everything i do.

it’s so fun. it reminds me of my old reporter days. i get to call up a customer and interview them, talk about what they’re doing. then i get to write a story. it’s really quite challenging, but so rewarding. i love it because i get a chance to get lost in someone else’s life, and passion. and they’re always really passionate. plus, when i do it right i capture their voice, and that’s the best part of it all. being able to write in someone else’s voice, and then having them read it and exclaim about how wonderfully i’ve captured them. really, that’s the most rewarding part of my job. i think it’s what gets me out of bed in the morning.

Now that’s what I should have asked for for Christmas – a story where I heard my voice through jodi’s words.

But isn’t writing about software boring?
