getting dressed is not a high priority for me this morning. sadly, i don’t think it would be appropriate to show up to work wrapped in nothing but the “gay pride” blanket (dubbed so by the sisters, it’s a rainbowy blanket i crocheted in my post-college unemployment phase. . . after the blanket was so dubbed it prompted me to say, “why do homosexuals get the rainbow?)

i’m sitting here with my blanket and superbedhead in the way back in the way back machine.

last night, i download some songs from Limited Warranty.

it’s reminding me of being 14 and having my first job. i bought a pink walkman with a cassette player and the limited warranty record with my first paycheck.

bought them at musicland in the northtown mall.

i’m probably dating myself heavily. . . but limited warranty was the very first minnesota band i fell in love with. they were soon joined by the jets.

so, i’m listening to these limited warranty songs and remember the 9th grade and that first job. i still like these songs. it’s funny because i listen to some of the stuff i loved in junior/senior high and it makes me cringe (i was a big fan of both tiffany and debbie gibson).

if i had my druthers i’d spend my day writing about miss. heck and my elementary school library, widgets and the squeeze song 853-5937.

sadly, i cannot find anyone to pay me to do such nonsense. so i will go to work and write about stuff that is not as exciting as university avenue elementary’s library and librarian, miss heck.
