Instead of napping, practicing, and reading like I usually do most long weekends, I decided to work my ass off. It has not been easy, and I’m pretty sure I’m sore in all my 2000 parts.
Yesterday, Sister #4 (who has started packing!) and I, hauled the crappy futon out of the loft and trucked it over to St. Paul where the futon was reunited with its owner. This left my loft, soon to be dubbed the Fortress of Solitude, deliciously empty. Or at least it seemed deliciously empty. I relaized once I started packing stuff up so I could paint that it was not empty at all.
Today we made a voyage to the Cheap Swedish Furniture Mecca, aka Ikea, where I dropped a cool $250 on two 6’7″ bookcases and a new desk. God I love Cheap Swedish Furniture. My bookcases will be delivered tomorrow, wahoo! So in the meantime I painted the loft a lovely shade called Antique Photograph and cleaned up the joint.
Tomorrow I get to put it all back together again. And, if things go well, I will do nothing on Tuesday except eat foodstuffs cooked over charcoal. I think this is going to go down as the most productive 4th of July weekend in the history of Supergeniuskind.
Man, I have been painting my apartment all weekend. How did you get the painting done in one day?
The prep work took me FOREVER!
No kidding, PeeWee – we have a SuperPainterGenius or something.
well, it was just a loft, not an entire apartment.
Dude, I can’t wait to see it! At least pictures, assuming you won’t want the Fortress of Solitude sullied by other human eyes.
By the way. Did you see the article that Alice Munro is done writing? Truly a joyous weekend!!
Well, I should clarify, it is a STUDIO apartment.I have only painted half of it, but it has taken me two days. Oh, and I read a book too. That might have cut into my paint time, but still I think you must be a painting genius. Please post a paint chip.
So Munro finally realized that she writes boring stories that have nothing to with anything?
