you know i think i’d sleep tonight if i could only stop singing Girl Inform Me over and over and over in my head. i think i’ve been singing this song for about 4 days now. i can’t seem to stop. what’s worse is i’m not so good with all the lyrics yet, so mostly i just repeat the “girl inform me all my senses warn me your clever eyes could easily disguise” part. i’m starting to annoy myself. which is odd because i do lots of things that annoy myself. like i often try to put on my shoes without untying them first. i don’t know why because i can never seem to get them on without a hassle. eventually i get frustrated and just untie them. i also hate when i leave half-full diet cokes lurking about in odd places, which is probably why they are half full. because really it makes no sense why there would be a half-full diet coke sitting on the bottom shelf of the bookcase in the corner. i also snap my gum and leave a small mound of dirty sock under the desk. it’s sure a damn good thing i leave alone.

My daughter buys her shoes big enough to slip on with the laces tied, a pair of her shoes and three socks are under the computer desk as I write. She’s very artistic, the best reader and writer in her class, and didn’t know how to do decimals on a recent math placement test, but guessed and got it right.
Oh, she’s also shy, calls herself a coward, but is finally developing her sense of humor and getting the idea of how puns work, so see, you both share that funny, eccentric, artist type thing. Oh yes, her room’s a mess, but she loves to make finger food when guests come to visit us.
