i’ve gotten a dozen searches on Ryan Adams, Orpheum, Minneapolis today. clearly people are wanting to know about the rawk.

like i said last night, it was great. ryan rocked and he rolled. his opening act, leona naess kicked much ass. which is weird since pretty, talented girls usually make me bitter and self-conscious. but she was so charming it was hard not to like her. plus her voice was wonderful and well. . . i need to head over to amazon and get some stuff of hers.

ryan brought the rawk. i think i expected him to be a little more out of control. i was expecting something ala the replacements circa 1984, or at least something resembling the stories i’ve heard. it seemed a very orchestrated sort of raucousness, not that i didn’t eat it up at the time. even if it was all a well-planned out act, i fell for it and perception is reality, is it not?

the crowd was pretty knowledgeable of adams’ music which always helps. it’s nice to go to a concert and the radio-hit isn’t the most popular song the artist plays.

so there, it was wonderful.
