Anti-Bummers: Because, Of Course Edition

  • I haven’t really cried since Saturday. A few tears have slipped out my eyes, but nothing serious.
  • The Current decided to play nothing but The Rolling Stones for four hours and it made me so happy I couldn’t stop smiling.
  • Christa’s post The Chain made me laugh about 100 times, but never harder than when I read this line: “Chuck would have eaten anything anywhere surrounded by a thousand dancing Chads performing scenes from ‘The Lion King.'”
  • It is 8 p.m. and I didn’t poke, poke, poke at my heart at all so far today.
  • And this conversation about my broken heart & Can’t Always Get What You Want happened moments before the song came on the air.
  • Also, they played “Get Off My Cloud” for me and that made me happy.
  • My Letter to the Young Chef continues to resonate with people, which makes me feel good as writer and a human.
  • The song “Out on Love” by Lydia Loveless was recently brought to my attention and I’ve listened to it 26 times since yesterday (Thanks, Ted!).
  • I have more to say about this song and other things, but it wasn’t flowing today, so you’ll have to wait until tomorrow. <--- Not really an anti-bummer but more an FYI.
  • I got to spend some quality time with The Tibbles, which is nice because I haven’t really seen them in three weeks. That picture up there is not indicative of our quality. Liam and I had many fine discussions about candy preferences, how sometimes food makes you dance, and all the things he would not do while he was bored.
  • My heart feels lighter and not so filled with dread and sorrow even though it keeps saying things like “He said he would do anything for me,” but then my brain comes right back with things like “except tell you the truth” or “the man that said that does not exist” or “shut up.”
