Sweet Clementine

Did you know that yesterday was Blue Monday? Allegedly it’s the most depressing day of the year. Nice. I am glad to have participated in the worldwide pity party.

Blue Monday was the talk of the office today, well until Heath Ledger was found dead. But this Blue Monday phenomenon was news to me until about three co-workers all talked about how they had heard about it on the radio yesterday.

Yeah.

I am happy to report that today was like Sunny Tuesday or something. I felt much better after the pity party and this was in large part to my anticipation of dinner out.

A few weeks ago, I joined LinkedIn which is like the Corporate America version of Facebook. Immediately upon joining I got this e-mail from Clementine. “Is this THE Jodi Chromey of The Spectator?” He asked.

Damn.

So tonight we had dinner and it was fabulous. I haven’t seen Clementine since about 1995 or maybe 1996. It was so good. It’s weird how you can go a decade without seeing someone and then sit down over a beer and it’s like you haven’t missed a moment. It was so good and comfortable. I spent most of dinner trying not to lean over and lick him, or squeeze him.

I just got home and I’m still smiling. That’s how good it was.

    Linkedin… you’re there, too?

Off topic: whenever I see the name Clementine now, I think of the Rad Girls. Stupid show, but I can’t not watch. Yeah, double negatives and all.

    “Goodbye, Blue Mondays!,” indeed.
