“Well, I don’t know if I’ll go after the Yeti,” Max said from Ruby’s back seat. He was regaling us with tales of how he was going to travel around the world taking pictures of Sasquatch, the Loch Ness monster, and chupacabras. “I’d have to go up Mt. Everest and I’d need an oxygen tank and I’m not sure I want to risk it.”

Glad to hear that somebody’s keeping the dream alive! It took a long time after third grade when i first heard of Nessie, but i finally did make it to Loch Ness. Nessie was busy though and didn’t make an appearance. Maybe next time… Does Max know that there’s a nessie-like creature in Lake Champlain too? Probably Nessie’s American cousin.
He didn’t mention Lake Champlain, but he did say something about some sort of sea serpent that lives in the great lakes (all of them, apparently).
That’s correct – all of the Great Lakes are connected by passages deep underground, and the serpents swim through them from lake to lake.
I thought everyone knew that.
