To all my homies out there grindin’ legally and illegally

As anyone who has read this site for any amount of time knows, I have a mad-crazy skatepunk fetish. Mad. Crazy. It’s all part of this weird koo-koo-ka-choo Mrs. Robinson thing I’ve got going on (In fact my freind ChiliD is always teasing me about the fact that he can never tell if he’s too young or too old for me since I seem to have an older-than-me-man fetish too).

This skater-fetish has a lot to do, I think, with the fact that I lost my virginity those many years ago to a darling purpely-haired skaterboy (who was younger then me). It also explains my undying love for Jason Lee, how I can’t not stare at boys on skateboards, why I read MKH’s skater post 77 times, and the fetish spilling over onto snowboarders like the flying tomato.

So it makes perfect sense why I would become totally addicted to Lupe Fiasco’s song “Kick, Push.” Addicted is probably putting it mildly. I heard the song a few weeks ago on my beloved Current and had it stuck in my head forever. Luckily, when I heard it this weekend I caught the name of the artist who sings it. And like I could ever forget a totally rad name like Lupe Fiasco. Come on!

Anyway, I thought I would share the mania. Listen to this song and tell me if you can control your hips. I bet you can’t.

I hear you on the shaking your hips to this jam. I also hear you on diggin’ it even though it’s not your type of music.

Started the writing workshop tonight and things are going surprisingly well. Even if it IS dude-a-pollooza!

    Cheers,
    JJ

Love that song! Turn it up on the kitchen radio, car radio and dance to the screeches of a 13-year-old pleading, “Mama! Stop!”
