a day in the life of a grownup

i’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again, there’s something oddly satisfying about spending the day being a grownup. by grownup, i mean someone who takes care of him/herself financially, emotionally, socially, what have you. ok, that’s a lame description. i can’t define grownup, but i know it when i see it. and i saw it all over this here place today.

how was i a grown up today? let me count the ways:
– i cleaned my apartment and nobody’s even coming over.
– i did laundry instead of just wondering if me and the bottle of febreze could get by another week.
– i did dishes and there were still plenty of clean plates to be used in the cupboard (in the cupboard! and not just waiting in the dishwasher).
– i did NOT buy load of books just because i was bored.
– i only spent about 45 minutes laying about practicing (on a sunday!).
– i made a dinner that included vegetables (and not just one or two, but FOUR different kinds– neither of those included lettuce or onions).
– i did the dinner dishes.

now, because life is about balance, i think i’ll sit on the fabulous blue couch with a pint of ben and jerry’s laughing my fool head off at sixteen candles.

you know what, i think i want every single thing on your wish list, as well. especially fray. i’ve read the first two lucifer books, they are great. i’m looking for the third right now.

    must be a jodi thing.
