my goal today was to not let the bastards get me down. pretty big goals, i know. so far it’s not worked quite as well as i would have liked. but hopefully when i get home, i can let it all go and do some stuff like watch Lost in Translation (again) and maybe write something.
i’m most excited about my writing group meeting tomorrow. this alone, would usually be enough to get all giddy about. because i love my writer’s group. i mean really, it makes me feel all impassioned and energized about writing after meeting with them. but this one’s extra exciting because beautiful robert is making a special guest appearance. though i must admit i feel a little bad. we’re making this a dinner event, lasagne and what not. some people are bringing actual stuff they had to make, and i have to bring the nutter butters. does anyone know of a good wine that goes with nutter butters?
Anything that comes in a screw-top bottle and sells for under $3 is perfectly acceptable with Nutter Butter cookies.
Boone’s Farm springs immediately to mind.
I was gonna go with Boone’s, too, but then realized Nutter Butters were probably too good for Boone’s.
That’s when I came up with wine in a box. I think any variation will do.
once, in college, i spent a whole party walking around with a box of wine, and drank most of it myself.
Boxed wine seems, to me, to be of two distinct varieties. Parch-your-throat dry, and Kool-Aid? sweet. I could see drinking a whole box of the latter, but never the former. That would be an adventure in heartburn.
Any of these would be acceptable.
1. Peanut Noir
2. Chef Boyardeaux
3. I Can’t Believe It’s Not Vinegar!
Those were good Dick!!! When i was the team manager for a local gay men’s soccer team, I was told if anyone injured themselves to give them an ice pack, and then a nutter butter. See, they’re very therapeutic.
I’d go with, “But I wanted the CHOCOLATE Nutter Butters…”
Oh, you were talking about WINE, not WHINE…
Sorry.
Thomas, we’ve nicknamed our daughter Bordeaux because she is such a whiner, so is her sister, Chardonnay.
So the next one is “Bridgette Merlot”?
i still don’t have any idea what a nutter butter is.
*GASP*
Only the most yummy cookie/peanut butter combination in the Nabisco arsenal… The #9 selling cookie in the US?
Especially good when using them to scoop out semi-frozen Cool-Whip.
i’ve been giggling to myself all day about picturing you carrying a box of wine around and drinking the whole thing, jodi. it puts those helmets with can holders on the either side to shame!
Thomas and Dick,
As Shiraz as I am writing, these wine puns are not too Chablis!!!
oops, I mean
