i dream of a world where sales people can spell registration without a copyeditor, where people meet deadlines, where i don’t have to explain why you would never write, “etc. . . . ” where my stomach is not in constant rebellion. nine more hours and i’m outta here for five whole days. can you tell i need a little break? i’m thinking of taking an entire week in a row off in august. what shall i do with all the glorious free time?

vancouver! =)
A vacation would be a great idea. Go visit friends, or pick a place you’ve always wanted to go and go. Go on a cruise (I know, we’re all a little young for cruises, but you won’t be beholden to anyone for anything on a boat).
If I had a week off, I’d visit every tourist trap/attraction nearby. I take them for granted, and when people ask me about them, I have to admit that I’ve not been to them yet.
Yet.
Why do we say that when we have no plans to visit them in the first place? It’s almost as if we’re trying to justify our not-going-ness. Maybe it’s just me, maybe I’m just a damn dirty liar. But I know I don’t want to be.
Give me a week, Hell Michigan! Give me a chance to peruse your gay-friendly bookstores, Saugatuck! Save a room for me, Grand Hotel in Mackinac!
I swear that before I wither and die, I’ll give a visit to everywhere, and everyone, who I owe a visit to.
I’d go to NYC… Oh wait, I did.
If I had a week off, I would stay here in the Twin Cities. Actually, I just had four days off and that is what I did. I have discovered that by staying here and playing the tourist, I can have just as much fun, plus, I get to sleep in my own bed. I have friends that complain that there is nothing to do in the Twin Cities, which baffles me because I need longer weekends to visit all the places I did not have time for.
But I am looking forward to our August trip to Colorado. We are staying in Pegosa Springs. I have never been there, but my wife’s aunt says it is beautiful. I usually stay in either Denver or Boulder, so I am excited to visit another part of that beautiful state.
