sister #2 was kind enough to pick me up the new Cities 97 sampler so i got some new/old tunes to listen to today. i think all the soul coughing and ike reilly and liz phair was starting to do something to me.

i love the cities 97 sampler, i like the lo-fi live performances. i like that it benefits minnesota charities. what i don’t like is that the only minnesotan represented on the disc is dave pirner and that wretched never recover song.

c’mon cities 97 what were you thinking? paul westeberg released not one, but two faboo albums this year– why in the hell didn’t you get him in the studio? gah, you guys really blew it this year. you are only forgiven because of the beautiful suzanne vega song– consider yourselves lucky.
