spur of the moment

i’ve just decided that i’m not coming into work tomorrow. i just e-mailed the bossman asking if it was ok for me to take the day off, i’m sure he won’t have a problem with it and i deserve it.

i was just whining to lisa that i haven’t had a day off in over a month.

“oh you poor baby.”
“this is a serious matter. i might have to call OSHA or Amenesty International,” i said as she turned away. “i’m sure the UN would love to hear about this,” i shouted over the wall.

hrmph. i get no respect.

Tell you what… You go on ahead and take Monday off as well. If anybody gives you any grief, you tell ’em I said it was okay!

A month? That’s petty harsh. Been there done that. At one point I had done 18 staright days on and began answering my home phone “Hi, how can I help you, today?’

That’s when I knew it was time to play hooky.

I get so few calls at home I have to actually physically resist the urge to answer it with “Thanks for calling technical support…”
