and with that, the last official night of bowling has ended for the season. can i get a halleluiah? sure, sure we still have final rolloffs next week, but that’s only two teams. it hardly counts as an official night of bowling.
the air was tangible tonight. you could see it and touch it, it was so thick. the heat here in minnesota is ridiculous. what in the hell happened to spring? the high today was 91 degrees.
hello, mother nature? yeah, this is minnesota calling we want some goddamn spring. are you taking lsd or something? two weeks ago it we got 10 inches of snow, now it’s 91 degrees. we’re only human, have pity on us.
so yeah, the blue smoke hung in the air a cloud hovering above the bowlers heads. the lights would dim whenever the air conditioner would kick in and then all the bowlers would line up in front of it to cool themselves. i just sat on my bar stool, silently sweating resisting the urge not to rub the frost covered beer bottles all over my neck and chest just to relish the sweet, sweet coldness.
Amen, sister. This sucks! Supposed to cool down by the end of the week, though. So they say. Mother Nature is a wench.
