i am currently writing a paper for one of my classes as to how punk is not dead. thats how i found this site.
punk is obviously dead in many of you, closemindedly damning all of those who you do not percieve to be just like you. but all of those people out there selling the punk image, they arent punk. you know it, i know it, we all do, so get over it.
what is punk? its music, its culture, its a way of life. the music is definitely still alive, regardless of whether or not the misfits still have danzig, the dead kennedys still have jello, etc. if youre looking for it in the mainstream, you wont find it, that much is clear. you were never really supposed to be able to find it there anyway. to say punk is dead is really quite rediculous. some of my greatest memories of my rapidly disappearing youth were burned in by the sweat and heat of densely packed clubs, surrounded by all of my closest brothers and sisters, many of whom i didn’t have names for.

Besides, if you go to a “punk rock” concert, all your gonna see is 15-20 people with mohawks and studded jackets with patches all over them (and somehow they still claim to be “indivuals” despite the fact they all look alike).
