One movie I always forget that I really love: That Thing You Do.
One annoyance: That I’ve been kind of brain dead lately and haven’t written dick to save my life — at all. So instead I make silly lists because of my love/hate relationship with Nablmo.
One ass that needs to me kicked: TBS’s. They keep fucking with Dawson’s Creek and randomly show it when they feel like it. There is no schedule. I need a schedule.
One good thing: Tomorrow is my last day of work until the Monday after Thanksgiving.
One more good thing: I got to hang at Grumpy’s with Jags and her delightful husband talking about music and books and writing. Also, his first ever concert was Johnny Cash.
One dilemma: Do I stay up and watch the new Project Runway or wait until tomorrow when I am more well rested?
One mistake: Through some weird finger combination I managed to publish this list before it was done.
One more thing: I promise this will be the last list for the rest of the week.
my favorite episode of dawson’s creek is the one where joey goes to the alternative prom with dawson, and then slow dances with pacey, who talks about her dead mom’s jewelry and rubs her shoulder.
man. next time i have a lot of spare hours in a row, i’m going to throw a good old fashioned marathon.
My first concert ever was Elvis. Yeah, I’m that old.
My first was George Harrison. I BREATHED BEATLE AIR!!! I’m somewhat aged. But not as aged as Edge. Oh. Unless he saw the Las Vegas Elvis. In which case, we’re probably about the same age except i’m not old yet. :o)
Christa, my favorite episode is the one where they open the B&B and Pacey watches Joey sleep.
Edge & Shokkou, damn. Now I feel even lamer then lame admitting my first concert was The Jets and Limited Warranty.
Do either of you even know who they are?
I’m also somewhat aged…my first was KISS at the Duluth Arena in 1977. Didn’t the Jets do “Crush On You?”
Unlike my wife, however, I’ve never seen Elvis Costello, Springsteen or even Dylan (I came to all of their music very late in life). What a loser I am.
Damn Spells, what’s the matter with you? I was only 5 in 1977 and I’ve still managed to see Costello and Dylan (I am apathetic on Springsteen).
And yes, the Jets did sing “Crush on You.”
My first concert was Rick Springfield, the Working Class Dog tour. These two annoying girls kept standing up on their folding chairs in front of me and blocking the view, so I would flip their chairs so they fell off. They would stay off for a few minutes and then climb right back on, only to be flipped again.
Years later, I discovered the annoying girls on the chairs were my (now) sister-in-law and her best friend.
Weird, no?
The Jets… one of the last songs I heard before getting on the plane to fly to San Diego for USMC Boot Camp was a song by The Jets, the very song SpellsGood mentioned: “Crush On You.”
One of the (few) good things about being older and having expendable income is I can now see whoever I want almost whenever I want. I’m on a mission to see every band I’ve missed (and that still tour) and every band I like. If they come to Houston and I’m not committed to doing something with the kids or family, I’m there. Last year, I finally got to see the Psychedelic Furs, DEVO, and AFOS. I totally felt like I was 16 again, too. 🙂
What’s AFOS?
A Flock Of Seagulls… sorry. I reverted to HS lingo of the 80’s there. I have to remember you’re a young ‘un. 🙂
UH, that is quite the coincidence. I saw the Rick play RibFest a few years ago…perhaps your sis-in-law and friend were a few of the MILFs screaming little kids in front of the stage?
And I was only 11 in 1977…I was so freaked out that we sat way back in the nose-bleeds (it was my mom and one other parent with 5 kids)…among all the stoners.
“How did you know? ‘Cuz I never told…you found out…I’ve got a crush on you.”
That should be “screaming like little kids”…
