in the newspaper business we used to have things called house ads. you’d use house ads when you didn’t want a story to dogleg or it wasn’t long enough to fill the alloted space.

i just watched a show called 20 years of Must See TV. it was an hour-long house ad for for NBC. you’d think they could have found something better to fill that slot.

I watched that too. I was really disappointed that they did not focus more on the shows.. the behind the scenes stuff, rather than “and our ratings this, our ratings that.
The sick thing is that it was a rerun — the show originally ran back in May or June as part of the big 75th anniversary folderol. Kinda sick, though it was nice to see the Family Ties folks again, a little.
