My opinions when it come to quality television programming are probably not held in high regard. I generally spend my TV time crying in front of Dawson’s Creek reruns that I’ve seen before, watching My So-Called Life (which was cancelled in 1995), or Project Runway.
So when I tell you that “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” is the best show on TV, take that with a grain of salt. However, you must believe me when I tell you that it’s smart and fast and funny and political. And it shares the same element that draws me to Project Runway — depictions of creativity under pressure. It’s awesome. I set the DVR to record the show when it first aired and finally had time (because how better to procrastinate?) to watch the episodes I had stored.
I’ve been riveted, and that’s saying a lot because I generally can’t sit through more than 45 minutes of TV at a time. That’s a ringing endorsement. The show is wonderful and y’all should be watching it.
I love that show!
It’s classic Sorkin, and I find myself (like I always did with West Wing) repeating “I love that show!” to myself after every first act.
I love it, too, which means it’s probably doomed.
i can’t wait for the westwing guy and amanda peet to sleep together. since the wings guy is a jerk and chandler is clearly hung up on the skinny blonde actress. lots of great elements to that show. lots of great elements.
I hate it, so it will probably stay on forever and win Emmys until the next Ice Age.
On the other hand, “30 Rock”, while not perfect, was extremely funny. Alec Baldwin is just awesome at being an insufferable dick. Since I like it, look for this one to bite the dust by January.
I am a bug Sorkin fan back to Sports Night (still mad that it got cancelled) and love this show too. Jodi, I hope you aren’t the kiss of death here – ratings haven’t been too stellar and the show may be on the bubble. May I suggest you start working your charms on NBC execs ASAP…
