one of my new favorite pastimes is taking part in telephone surveys. mostly because my phone never rings so when it does i’m so excited that someone wants to talk to me that i can’t just hang up.
well, that’s not the only reason. manfred is our survey guy and i know how hard it is for him since a lot of people don’t like to take the time to do surveys and i just feel like i’m putting good survey-karma out there for him if i answer the survey people that call me.
just so you know, this survey-fetish hasn’t gotten so out of hand that i have sunk to talking to the vultures that roam the malls with their clipboards.
anyway the bad things is these surveys never last long enough for me. it seems they get to the what do you do for a living question and when i say marketing the survey ends. are marketers really that evil?
It’s because you’re in the industry. 🙂
I did surveys years ago, and people in marketing, sales, and media were often in the ‘not allowed’ category. I guess the theory is that you may know too much or figure out what answers they’re trying to get and for whom.
