Post-it Note Morning Songs Part XII: I think I’m almost at the year mark

Okay, I just looked, May 31st will mark the anniversary of the Post-it Note Morning Song. I can’t wait to do the year-end wrap up. I am convinced that “Why Can’t I” by Liz Phair will be on there at least a dozen times. I have no idea why I wake up so often singing that damn song. Maybe I should change the ringtone I wake up to (yes, I use my cellphone as alarm clock because when I was having so many insomnia problems my doctor said I should sleep without an alarm clock in my room and she was so dead right about how much it helps).

Apr07: Blower’s Daughter, Damien Rice
Apr07: Slide, Goo Goo Dolls
Apr07: Something in the way She Moves, The Beatles [I don’t even know if this is the name of the song and I am much too lazy to look it up]
Apr07: In the Air, Phil Collins [my subconscious is a bitch]
Apr07: She Moves in Her Own Way, The Kooks
Apr07: Saturday Night’s All Right, Elton John [Again with the not sure of the actual song title, songs should all just be called that phrase that sticks out the most, or the first line of the chorus]
Apr07: Everybody Knows You Cried Last Night, The Fratellis
Apr07: Candy Mountain Song, Charlie the Unicorn [sometimes I really worry that I might have some mental stability problems]
Apr07: Young Turks, Rod Stewart

Apr07: Why Can’t I, Liz Phair
Apr07: Why Can’t I, Liz Phair
Apr07: If I Could Talk I’d Tell You, The Lemonheads
Apr07: Finding Out True Love is Blind, Louis XIV
Apr07: Girl Sailor, The Shins [Holy Shit, I guess that new Shins’ record had more impact on me than I thought, when I was just typing my notes I had to double check to even see if that was really a Shins’ song]
Apr07: Sk8r Boi, Avril Lavigne [no comment]
Apr07: New Pollution, Beck
Apr07: Take Me Home Tonight, Eddie Money [I re-watched ‘Swingers’ recently and have had to resist the urge to say ‘We’re so money’ about 392 times a day ever since]
Apr07: Open Arms, Journey
Apr07: Darling Nikki, Prince
Apr07: Why Independent Record Stores Fail, Marah
Apr07: Black and Blue Eyes, The Fratellis
Apr07: Mother’s Little Helper, The Rolling Stones
Apr07: Nada — I had nothing this day
Apr07: Right to Arm Bears, Paul Westerberg
Apr07: I’ve Every Woman, Whitney Houston [This was so not my fault and totally the fault of Love is a Mixtape]
Apr07: Burning for You, Blue Oyster Cult
Apr07: Polly, Nirvana [This one shows how open to suggestion I am. The night before one of my classmates, Amanda, was talking about her girlfriend Polly, that’s all it takes]
Apr07: I Don’t Want to Wait, Paula Cole [shut up]
Apr07: Seein’ Her, Paul Westerberg
Apr07: Why Can’t I, Liz Phair

I can’t believe Amanda overrode the audacity of Somewhere Out there.
On April 28 I might have slit my wrists.
Today would be a good day!

See, I watch Dawson’s creek everyday. I’m surprised Paula Cole doesn’t show up more often.
