Sudden heat wave blasts Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Twin Citians were surprised last night when a sudden tropical heat wave left residents springing from their beds to see what was the matter. Residents from as far away as Hopkins flew to their windows in a flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

“It was really strange,” Sven Sundgaard the pocket meteorologist said. “Suddenly at like 9:40 central standard time the heat index shot up about 70 degrees. I am surprised the earth could handle such a sudden temperature change.”

The Minneapolis Police and NASA scientists were sent to Washington Avenue South near the Open Book building, after CTU satellites were repositioned to pinpoint the heat source.

Officials began immediate evacuations of the nearby bars, fearing a bomb in the area. However, once they discovered the heat source was caused by the force of local woman, Jodi Chromey’s blush, they called it off, allowing people to return.

“I didn’t mean to cause any harm,” Itisitis said. “All I did was tell her I found her blog, then her face started to glow.”

Itisitis, a local Minneapolis writer, had been doing some research about his story and stumbled on iwilldare.com by accident, he said. He feared someone had stolen his idea or that perhaps it had been done before.

Chromey could not be reached for comment, e-mails and phone calls made to Supergenius HQ remained unanswered.

“She’s totally sitting there blogging this,” the Vodo said. “She’s kind of an emokid who does shit like that.”

What a blast last night was….and the heat wave was a welcome change.

Except, of course, that Vodo did not call you an Emo. He agreed with me that you were not. …but my interview did not make the article.
