seamus returned today from whatever far-flung destination we sent him to this week. it was an overnighter, so i assume it wasn’t some place too far away.
he grabbed the container of sin and asked, “why is there any of this goodness left? what is wrong with you?”
maria and i were speechless. why was their any of the sin in a plastic container left? how could we let this happen? then i remembered.
“there were free chocolate chip cookies yesterday.”
“oh, okay,” he said. and then at 9:30 in the a.m. he opened the container and ate the sin. it makes me feel totally less guilty about the girl scout cookie breakfast the other day.
so after he ate of the sin, seamus tried to con me into going out and buying a new iPod for lunch. it took all my superhero strength to resist him and his siren song.
i really want a new iPod because as much as i love Kathleen Turner Overdrive she’s the iPod equivalent of a Walkman. 40GB? black and white screen? okay, yeah, hang on while i flip the tape and fast forward to that song i like.
but i did resist. because i’ve decided i want to paint the bathroom and the loft, plus buy new furniture for the loft way more than i want to buy a new iPod.
also i have decided that if i were a lesbian i would have a big ol’ lesbian crush on Neko Case.

I’m in the same ipod boat as you, with the same internal struggle. And now, with the P-nut on board, the struggle is ever so complicated. My wants vs. his needs… yuck.
Anywho, my “plan” is to wait until whatever will be replacing the current ipod comes out. Because then I’ll be like 2 or 3 (I can’t even keep track anymore) grades behind.
So, when that happens, are you with me? Can we make it a date?

i too face the ipod conundrum. i have a 20gb u2 edition. and while manny the ipod is glorious, i can’t help but feel that i could have so much more with a color screen and 60gb. 60! wow!
of course, i also figure that there will be a new one as soon as i do make that purchase. i’m holding out for the applecare plan on manny the ipod to run out first.
