tonight during book club, max showed me the leprechaun trap and told me about the wishes he had hoped to make.
“first i was going to wish that i was a tryrannesaurus rex,” he said. “then i was gonna wish that the Army wouldn’t kill me. wait, no no no no first i was going to wish for infinite wishes, then for the Army not to kill me and then i was gonna wish i was indefeatable.”
“indefeatable?” i asked.
“yeah,”” he said. “it means that nobody can defeat you. i don’t want my enemies to defeat me.”
“you gotta lot of enemies?” i asked.
“not yet,” he said. “but i might someday.”
“way to plan ahead.”

we didn’t catch anything in our trap either, those leprechauns are very tricky, that’s why they have all that gold, I sure wish they’d let their mustaches grow, there’s something weird about a beard and no mustache, but maybe it’s easier for them to eat cabbage without it getting stuck in their mouth hairs.
Max is so smart for his age that it’s almost scarey!!!
