this is simon. we lived together for about a month. he was sister #4’s kitty for about three months. tonight she had to put him to sleep because he had kitty leukemia.
sister #4 just called with the news. she was sobbing and sobbing and i just feel so bad for her. i am glad D is with her. i asked her if she wanted me to come down, but she said no. which is kind of good, because it’s so hard to drive when you are crying.
the vet said it’s unlikely that madison or paco have contracted it, since it’s usually transmitted through deep puncture wounds. chances are that simon got it from his mom. but to be safe we have to get the rest of the cats (madison, paco, and simon’s brother murphy) tested.
it’s weird how you can get attached to some little creature so quickly. poor simon, he never even had a chance.
