i fell in love with jason lee sometime in 1992 or 1993. the stink (who was not yet married to sister #2) used to bring over Blind’s Video Days and Thrasher and the other magazine that was really cool that sometimes came in a cereal box that i can’t remember the name of and will drive me nuts all day. it was then that i first discovered Jason Lee. he was my favorite. then in, was it 1995?, when Mallrats came out i nearly creamed my jeans. Jason Lee on the big screen in a Kevin Smith movie. and even though Smith hates Mallrats, i love it. LOVE IT. because it brought Jason Lee to the screen. of course, my favorite Jason Lee roll is as Jeff Bebe in Almost Famous. anyway, i lost my point. i think the point was that i am totally fucking giddy My Name is Earl. even with the slimy child-molester mustache, i’m pretty sure i’m gonna love this show.

I picked up the Mallrats 10th anniversary DVD today, most of the stuff is already on the first DVD but there is some new good stuff for a Jason Lee fan. When you say Smith hates Mallrats, you don’t mean Kevin do you?

holtz, have you ever listened to the commentary on the regular Mallrats DVD? he does not have a lot of mallrat love there.
What the heck, my last response seems to have vanished. Yeah I’ve listened to the commentary, very funny. Smith doesn’t hate the movie he just knows its flawed and bombed bad, he is very self-depracating about all his movies.
I watched it cause I heart Jason too. In a Man-to Man hetero way of course.
It was cool.
