for reasons that are unknown to me and the universe i’m unsually perky for a monday morning nearing 11 (a monday morning where i shouldn’t even be working because it’s a goddamn holiday). i mean i’m at work, and it has yet to crush my spirit. perhaps i slept just the proper amount last night and didn’t let the hideous dreams about out of control cars with faulty brake pedals bother me too much.
of course, i am taking total credit for the uncharacteristic perkiness. see, i made a new CD chock full o’ new musical goodness. last week i was most crabby because i was absolutely sick to death of all the music i had here at work.
but now i got jet, the weakerthans, the shins, ryan adams’ love is hell parts 1 & 2, rod stewart, guster, and more to keep my ears happy.

this week, it’s been a little throw back to the earlier ryan adams – heartbreaker. “he’s got a mouth full of cookies.”
but rock n’ roll has been played as well, because sometimes i need something a little more, well, rock n’ roll.
also in the mix this week: sondre lerche, phantom planet, the pixies, mike doughty and jason mraz.

As for what I’m listening to…
At work, I hear the restful massage music wafting from the classrooms. If I listen to anything else, it’s very quietly. I do way too much phone work and people interaction to get to wear headphones.

As I type I’m listening to my new/old favorites I just found/dusted off last weekend: T-Rex and the Femmes.
Although I just caught Tank Girl (again) on my local syndicate and I have the feeling that some “girls kick ass” music will be hitting my stereo soon.
