leave a light on in heaven for me. . .
the coup of the night is downloading Danny Wilso’s “Mary’s Prayer”, one of my all time favorite songs circa 1987. so if you’re wondering what i’m doing sitting here at 4:31 a.m. not sleeping, i’m sitting at the keyboard bopping my head from side to side, singing “so if i say save me, be the light in my eyes, and i say 10 hail marys leave a light on in heaven for me” disturbingly loud.
now if i could only find the song that said something about “tonight you calm my resltessness and who’ll relive my sadness” and something about praying, well the inner 15 year old in me might just sleep, but probably not.

i, of course, run the risk of iwilldare excommunication with the mere suggestion that there is anything “funny” about the catholic church. i best hurry before i lose my nerve. the only thing keeping me going is the idea that you are in minnesota . . . right? that mystical place where boatlands of devout lutherans still land weekly along the shores of lake minnetonka.
