if it’s just a game then we’ll hold hands just the same

i’m not quite sure how people survived the work day before haadphone were invented. if it weren’t for the ability to blast really good music really loudly directly into my ears, there would be a lot more maimed and injured people walking around this joint.

also, it’s super doofy, but my heart still races everytime the replacements come on the winamp3. if i haven’t made a playlist suitably suited for the day’s mood, i’ll just load up all the mp3s i have here at work (approx 500) and hit shuffle.

so, even after all this time, when i hear that first drum beat of “I’ll Be You” my heart jumps a notch and my body suddenly goes into “ohilovethissong” mode. it amazes me that i can still be delighted by this song (which isn’t even in the top 10 favorite ‘mats songs). i’ve probably heard this song roughly 49,328 times — it’s the one they play the most on the radio and hearing it still makes me grin and bob my head and sing along.

i think that means there’s hope for me yet.

Hey, stumbled onto your blog when I did a google on “Our Band Could Be Your Life + The Replacements”. Great book and Paul (still) rules!

My fave Mats is still Pleased to Meet Me.

IMHO Guided By Voices are the new Replacements..

Thanks for the cool blog..will be checking back..have a great day!
