i get to be the song of the day geek this week. i love being the song of the day geek. this week i’ve chosen:
lola by the kinks
see a little light by bob mould
buddha rhubarb butter by soul coughing
candy floss by wilco, but a solo live jeff tweedy version
i’m not sure what i’ll be choosing tomorrow. maybe lolly, lolly, lolly get your adverbs here.

I was with you for the first two, but as my advancing age has caused me to disassociate with contemporary music, I have to say I have no clue about nos. 3 & 4.
My song of the month is “The Kicker” by Hybrasil (see lunchrecords.com if you are curious.)
say buddha rhubarb butter outloud to yourself like five times in a row. if that doesn’t make you smile nothing will and the song is even better than that.
also, candy floss is about a boy with the poetry power, the boy that smells like flowers, i love that boy.
i have an advancing age too and i can’t disassociate myself from wilco or soul coughing. it’s physically impossible.
If not “Lolly,” may I suggest “Lucky Seven?”
That one was always my favorite…
… although, if it weren’t for “Schoolhouse Rock,” I wouldn’t be able to recite the preamble to the Constitution.
I’m sure many in our age bracket could say the same…
