shawn just got back from a whirlwind press tour in england. he brought back this giant Nestle chocolate bar that says Yorkie: It’s Not For Girls!. i am loving it. i promptly tore open (actually cut open carefully) the package and hung it up outside my cube.

we can get those in niagara-on-the-lake. i had a conversation with a shopkeeper as to the specifics of why not for girls. we couldn’t come up with anything. our conclusion was that while an individual could find it funny for their own reasons, we didn’t believe the makers had much in mind.
see, i think it’s genius. a woman’s first impulse is to buy it because it says no girls allowed, and men want to buy it for the exact same reason!
Sure, but chocolate? Stocks, maybe. Or power tools, even. But c’mon, it’s not a hard sell to get women to buy chocolate. And if they really wanted to piss me off, they’d of made it “Boys Only”. 🙂
i’m sure you’ll be fascinated to learn that the Yorkie bar is now officially available to girls, as the company have released a variation that comes in a neon-pink wrapper, minus the ‘not for girls’ slogan, though the bar is basically the same.
Neon pink? That’s fer sissies. I want me a monster-truck, he-woman Yorkie! 😉
So I take it you are all American?!
Does this kinda thing shock you?
We been doing this for years now!
Our Scalectrix advert was even worse!! Much, much worse!!
