so i was listening to the KS95 morning show on my way in this morning. i was shocked, when they suddenly played a song. not only a song, but a song i like. usually it’s just talk and crap music– and that’s why i listen because i like the inane talk that doesn’t force me to think so early in the morning.
so you can imagine my glee when i suddenly hear pictures coming from ruby’s speakers. wooha! i was singing along at the top of my lungs, until the line about “fueling up on cocaine and whiskey” came up. then i was suddenly singing solo on the word cocaine.
apparently you can’t say that on the radio.

I’m thinking you can. It’s not a censored word or anything. I think, in the totally over-the-top world of Politically Correct hyper-awareness, that particular station thought that reference my glorify illicit drug use and decided on their own to bleep it out.
That’s what I’m thinking.
Interestingly enough, the country radio station (owned by the same company as KS95) plays this song, and DOESN’T bleep it out.
I guess they assume their listeners aren’t as easily influenced. Go fig.
