as i was driving back from target this morning (it cost me only $13.32 thankyouverymuch) i noticed two little girls playing in their back yard. they were decked out in their swimsuits and playing with a slip ‘n slide.
only this slip ‘n slide was a new-fangled slip ‘n slide from the future. first, it was blue. not the bright yellow of my childhood. secondly, it was sorta like this one. notice the new safety enhancements? yeah, they got like a soft, squishy, air-filled tube like thing to catch them at the end of the wet, slippery ride.
we didn’t have that.
ours was bright yellow and the only thing that stopped you was the grass. there was no gentle stop. the only way you stopped was by running out of slip ‘n slide.
technically we didn’t have a slip ‘n slide, jenny did. she lived next door. but we always used it in our yard, because jenny’s dad didn’t want us ruining the grass. my parents didn’t care.
