question

hey darling ones, do any of you uber geeks know if i can require a password for iwilldare.com based on someone’s domain?

for instance if someone from domain 123.456.789 is surfing on in, can i require that they request a password? is that possible? if so, is it something easy to do? or do i have to block the entire IP?

You can easily block the entire IP segment.

Or, you can ask the person not to come back, I think most of your afficianados have enough couthe to leave if asked.

I would, albeit sadder for the experience, and if your #1 stalker would, well then…

Assuming you use an ISP for hosting (and aren’t running this site off a PC in your house), you could get your ISP to block a specific IP. Try talking to someone there.

There may be a software fix too, but I don’t know it.

Jodi – you can use an .htaccess file to ban the IP from your domain. And if you want, you can set up your own person 403 Forbidden page that that person will see when they try to access your domain.

    Here’s a good resource:

Since you use Cornerhost for your web hosting you can use .htaccess as r mentions above. Post a message to the innercircle discussion group and we’ll be glad to help you.

Or IM me and I’ll help you. 🙂
