Don’t stay anywhere near “The Mall of Memphis”. IBM put me up at the hotel across the street from it, and while the Mongolian Style huge wok cooking place next door was good, that mall had 3 shootings in it in the two weeks I was there.
I never made it to Graceland, though I did drive past. It was uber-crowded.

If you can afford it, stay at the Peabody. It’s worth it for the duck march alone.
Either stay at the Peabody downtown or at the Adam’s Mark in East Memphis.
I grew up in Memphis, and did happen upon Graceland when I was seven. I was on a Brownie fieldtrip.
