this must be the weekend for cashiers to comment on my unusual height. but this time it was a rather positive experience. i was office max buying a swanky new leather computer chair (on clearance for $79 down from $159).

cashier: So just how tall are you?
me: 6’5″
cashier: Holy shit, that makes me feel so much better. I’m 6 foot.
me: I fondly remember 6 foot, back when I was 12.
cashier leaning over the counter and looking at my feet: Ain’t buying shoes a pain?
me: Yes
cashier: Where did you get yours?
me: Online. I buy everything online, it’s easier, you can find your size and you don’t have to deal with the depression of seeing all the small, cute shoes that you’ll never get to wear.
cashier: Ain’t that the truth?

it was utterly delightful. i need some tall girlfriends.
