the hoax

so the whole kaycee/cancer ordeal proves to be a giant hoax. i had my suspicions, but oddly enough i kept them quiet.

at first i was totally suckered in. i was moved to tears when i first discovered kaycee’s blog via blogger’s “blog of the week.” i read kaycee’s posts about once a month. but this kaycee creation was just too good to be true. nobody is that selfless and good. it’s not humanly possible. plus some of her escapades were just too damned far-fetched. i kept my suspicions quiet because i couldn’t figure out who was behind it. i didn’t want to go pointing fingers and feeling like an ass when i was wrong (and i think i was wrong, i would have pointed at the wrong people).

i think it’s amazing that people want so badly to love that this whole phenomenon even happened. of course a lot of people are pretty disillusioned and angry about the whole fiasco and i don’t blame them. but nobody should be ashamed for being duped into loving this character.

Wow. I had read nothing of the fake until now, and I had refrained from commenting on the whole thing because I simply didn’t know the person and thought it would be ridiculous for me to say something.
